Opening its doors in 1976, Children’s House was one of the first established child care centres in Lethbridge, Alberta. As a non-profit Society, Children’s House is operated by a voluntary Board of Directors.
We are excited to to have our daycare be a part of the Phase 2 Early Learning and Child Care pilot project for Alberta. Check out Alberta Early Learning and Child Care information here.
Children’s House understands that each family has unique strengths, desires and expectations for their children and we strive to incorporate these needs into the programs that we offer.
Children’s House operates throughout the year offering an Inclusive and Accredited Daycare Program , Alberta Education Kindergarten Program and Accredited Day Home Program . Children’s House is a subsidy approved program and also accepts applicants with social service or immigration assistance.
Age acceptance for care and education vary for each program. Our Day Home Program offers care to children from birth to 12 years of age. The Day Home Program is unique from the Daycare Program because individual homes are located throughout the city and offer before and after school care as well as transportation to and from school. Our Daycare Program offers care to children from 19 months to 6 years and is conveniently located in the downtown area and is within walking distance from the bus terminals. Our Kindergarten Program is integrated into our Daycare Program facility offering consistency of education and care provided with a full time on-site certified Kindergarten Teacher.
Children’s House believes that all children and their families have the right to the same child care choices and therefore integrates children with special needs into the program with typically developing children. All children benefit from these interactions by learning to accept individual differences.
